King’s Gate
The most ornate of Königsberg’s city gates, with statues of kings and a museum about Peter the Great’s Grand Embassy.

The neo-Gothic gate dates from the mid-19th century. Its façade shows Ottokar II of Bohemia, Duke Albrecht and King Frederick I.
Inside is an exhibition on Peter the Great, who visited Königsberg in 1697.
From here it is an easy walk to the Lithuanian Rampart and the Amber Museum.
Tips
- Small museum — one hour is enough.
- Gate walk: King’s → Rossgarten → Sackheim.
- Morning light is best for photos.
