Svetlogorsk (Rauschen)
The prettiest Baltic resort: cliffs in pine forest, a promenade, a cable car and the old villas of former Rauschen.

Svetlogorsk sits on a high cliff; stairs, a lift and a cable car lead down to a long promenade with a mosaic sundial.
Old villas survive, as does the 1908 water tower. The modern Yantar Hall theatre hosts concerts year-round.
The beach is narrow, but the sunsets are the best on the coast.
Tips
- About an hour by suburban train from the North Station.
- Summer weekends are busy — come on a weekday.
- Do not miss sunset on the promenade.
