Yantarny (Palmnicken)
The village by the world’s largest amber deposit: a viewpoint over the open pit, the region’s best beach and an old park.

Most of the world’s amber is mined here. A viewing platform overlooks the pit, and tours let you search for amber yourself.
The wide, fine-sand beach has repeatedly received the international Blue Flag.
An old park and a castle-style hotel make it a good overnight stop.
Tips
- After storms you can find amber on the beach.
- Book plant tours in advance.
- Combine with Svetlogorsk, 25 km along the coast.
